328 feet or 100 meters. This distance pertains to total distance between two pc's with a hug in the middle. Example Pc one is 45 feet from hub and PC two is 35 feet PC 3 is 260 feet.

pc 1 to pc 2 total distance is 80 feet
pc 2 to pc 3 is 295 feet
pc 1 to pc 3 is 305 feet

we are talking cable lengths not physical separation length. here

hope this helps

Let me set it straight.
The maximun distance is 328ft. or 100 meters. That distance refers to the cable lenght that is between the the two unit. It could be pc to hub/switch or it could be pc to pc (cross cable. If you exceed that distance you might need a repeater or a switch in between.

Again take into consideration the 5-3-2 rule.5 is the no.of segment, 3 is no. of segment that could be populated and 2 couldn't be populated.
