lan cards-sharing internet

I have 2 lan cards on my desktop. the one is occupied for the internet connection from the service provider who provides me with internet connection via a lan cable. The other i intend to use for connecting my laptop with the desktop.

the problem is i dont know how

i want to share the internet connection between my laptop and desktop. could someone please guide me with the steps involved in this?

Just get a router.

There are reasonably priced routers for doing this. You can get them with or without wireless transceivers. You plug the router into your internet provider, then you connect your home computers into the router. Most routers have enough connectors to allow up to four home computers to share the Internet connection.

Dear,

Hope your good self will be fine, its very easy to sort out your problem without any router, these are following ways,
1) Cross Cable
2) creat proxy server
3) Connect your dektop computer in bridge mood.

use the microsoft utility in XP to bridge the two cards
