I need to subnet out an existing 0 subnet network into 7 subnet network and need a recommendation on LAN routers. Running W2003 SBS w/AD with DHCP on the SBS box. 3 additional member servers and a total of 58 workstations with the subnets as follows: 4 subnet 1 which is the W2003 SBS DC & 3 mbr servers 15 subnet 2 8 subnet 3 5 subnet 4 11 subnet 5 11 subnet 6 8 subnet 7
Follows a new organizational structure management wants with each department subnetted.
Budget limitations are about $2500 to $3000 USD for equipment.

additional info subnet 5 & 6 need file sharing and share a network printer, subnet 2 & 3 need file sharing and share a network printer. Member server 1 is a file server, with member servers 2,3 SQL servers. All subnets except # 4 require access to SQL member server. Only subnet 4 has access to to SQL server # 2.
DR: Just thinking outloud here. How about a few Cisco switches, with VLANs configured for each subnet? I'm looking at Ebay, and right now, there is a 24-port 2924 model switch for $235 on "Buy It Now"; as well as a a 2950 model (also 24 port) for $700.
You could just get 3 Cisco switches from Ebay for around 1500 USD, then connect them (probably 100 Mbit/sec, unless you could find some with Gigibit interfaces), VLAN them, and there you go.
At least, after a night of heavy drinking (2 for 1 night at the bar!!!) that't my idea!!!
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
