    Landscape Printing Problem

    Locked

    by ctmoore1998 ·

We have a HP4050N network printer. One of our users developed a problem printing to this printer. The problem started with a Access 97 report. The report was formated as a landscape report. However when you attempt to print the report it comes out portrait. Problem has been passed on to everyother workstation in group, and occurs in any applicatin now. I have found 2 temp fixes to issue. 1st is delete user’s profile from workstation and rebuild it. The other option is to print directly to printer from workstation instead of to the network print queue (on a NT4 server) When problem shows up on workstation even the Print Preview shows up a Portrait and CAN NOT be changed to landscape. Added Network printer via the NT server to a new workstation and Preview works okay.

Sounds like a driver incompatibility. Perhaps one of
your users has a newer/older driver version than the
      server?

Try installing the latest on the server. If that doesn’t
help, you could make use of printui.dll to remove and
re-add printers on the client workstations.

      Run this for help: RUNDLL32
      PRINTUI.DLL,PrintUIEntry /?

You can add it into a login script if necessary.
