Laptop 2 networks

By sscalf ·
I have a laptop that I need to use to access 2 different networks, depending on location. Can I currently need to turn on the computer, change the domain and restart the computer. Can I have XP ask for the domain when logging on?

There are two ways to handle this...you can set up hardware profiles or use a utility like netswitcher.

Good luck!

I have a simple solution for you. If you don't want to switch to a domain but only want to access the server or connecting to any resource on any network, just change the Ip address of the machine which is matching the location where you are working. get one free address from that location and configure your ip address. That's it. If you have WINS server in that network you can add it in wins server list. When you reboot your computer, it will register your computer name in its list. you can connect to any machine, any resource. You have to authenticate to that machine that's it.
