I have a compaq presario 700 laptop whose battery stopped working some 7-8 months ago. Since I often use the laptop at home, i didn’t buy a new battery and used the AC adapter all the time. Recently, I’ve had a problem booting the laptop which i think has to do with the battery. it simply doesn’t boot until i unplug and plug the AC adpter several times. I plug the power in, press the power button and nothing happens, the power LED does not turn on at all but the battery charging LED turns on as soon as i plug the power in.
I tried to take the battery out and directly use the AC power, but didn’t work.
Any thoughts how i can deal with this?
