laptop email

by coopachi . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

I have a laptop running Win98. It is hooked to our lan using static IP. I am having a terrible time trying to get the thing to be check email out of office. I have an offline profile created (outlook 2k). I am able to dial in so far as to have the username and password box display, but when I try to do a check name nothing, happans. Do I have to also create an “offline” hardware profile. this is the first laptop I have had to make work in this manner and it has me scratching my head. I have been able to make other laptops (that do not reside on our lan) work, and even my desktop from home. Any insight would be appreciated. User has been granted dial up access. the network is NT4.0 w/ exchange 5.5
