Laptop graphics card

By delta-ollie ·
Hi,

I would like some help on a problem I have encountered after recently reformatting and reinstalling windows XP due to a corrupt HD.
I have managed to get everything going again EXCEPT for my graphics card.

It was a ATI X1300 and worked perfectly until the reinstall, now I try to download and install a driver but it will say I do not have the software or hardware present, so I'm quite confused here.

I am running a Toshiba Satellite A100 notebook
with: 1.83Ghz x2 processor (dual core)
1.5 GB ram
XP proffesional
Chipset intel i945PM
Motherboard MPAD-MSAE customer reference
board

help appreciated, Thanks

You will have to supply the Full Model Number

by OH Smeg In reply to Laptop graphics card

Of this Toshiba. A 100 isn't sufficient so turn it off close it up and turn it over and look on the bottom for the A100 -S code and post it back here so we can direct you to the correct driver.

Well the latest ATI Video Driver is located here

by OH Smeg In reply to Model Number

http://tinyurl.com/6hpm86

But you need to be absolutely sure that you have a ATI Video Card as there is a Intel Video Driver available for this as well here

http://tinyurl.com/6e4ac6

And a NVidia Video Driver as well available here

http://tinyurl.com/6hk6nc

Now if you used the Toshiba Recovery Disc all of the necessary drivers should have been loaded but if you used a OEM Windows Disc to reload this computer with you will not have the necessary drivers and you do need to first apply the M'Board chip set drivers which are available to download from here

And as you have asked elsewhere for the location for the full drivers for this NB they are listed here

OH I see your problem now this model never officially came

by OH Smeg In reply to Vista

With XP installed so it's been Upgraded from Vista. Try this link here for all but the ATI and Intel Video Drivers

http://tinyurl.com/673ydm

The ATI X1300 Driver is available here to download but they do not List Toshiba as a maker who uses this Video Chip Set.

Love ATI...

by Boli In reply to Laptop graphics card

This can be a common problem with ATI cards in Retail computers (catalyst drivers). I come accross it quite alot.

Simple answer is download it from Toshiba's driver and support section on their website.

Chip_Set Drivers

by TheChas In reply to Laptop graphics card

You often need to install the full Intel Chip-Set driver and not just the default Windows driver prior to installing a graphics driver.

What happens is that with just the default driver, the chip-set cannot pass the graphics device information back to Windows.

by Jacky Howe In reply to Laptop graphics card

in the other post but if you go here and search for A100 and scroll down you will get a list.
< ignore I think that Toshiba is playing silly buggers > I cant access the drivers when I post a link to them.
