Laptop has XP want to dual boot with W2K

Getting a laptop.
Can not get it without Windows XP.
I would like to dual boot between Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP.
I know Techrepublic has listed the 1-2-3 of dual booting STARTING with WINDOWS 2000.
Is there a way starting with WINDOWS XP?
What are my options?
