The other day my laptop started to freeze up for about a second every few seconds. If I’m moving my mouse around it will stop then show up on the other side of the screen. If I’m typing a whole bunch of words and not watching what I’m typing, I’ll look up and see that I’m missing about every 4th or 5th letter.
I swapped out my memory and that did nothing. I tried blowing cool air in the vents hoping that the CPU was over heating, but that did nothing as well. I checked the temperature though using “Core Temp” which are as follows:
Tj. Max: 212 F
Core #0: Low=129F High=156F
Core#1: Low=124F High=145F
Also the cpu usage appears to be normal. 95% is idle. I booted in to safe mode and I get the same problem. I went in to the BIOS settings and from trying to scroll around with my keyboard, I can tell that it is freezing in the BIOS setup as well. I decided, despite my better judgement, to format the hard drive even though I knew in my gut that this was most likely hardware related and not software. Formatting did nothing.
