A while back I had my brand new laptop behind my seat in my car and backed it over with the seat. Well the LCD cracked in many places.
I took apart the laptop to see if I could replace the screen myself, it seemed easy enough. When I put the laptop back together, the LCD was no longer lit up, I could barely make out what was on the screen, but it was clear the backlight was no longer working.
I assumed that I had just finally finished off the severely cracked LCD, so I ordered a new one. I replaced the screen, fired up the laptop, no luck, the new screen looks great, and I can make out everything on the screen, but it is still black, no backlight.
I researched the problem, determined it was probably the inverter board, and replaced that as well, still no luck.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
FYI: The laptop will work with a monitor plugged into the VGA port
