Laptop Monitor Problem!!!

By gafforova ·
Hi everyone!
I have a Acer Aspire 5100 laptop. As usual one day I started my laptop but the screen didn't turn on. I've tried turning on again several times but still same. Laptop itself seems like turns on (has a sound/light) but then in 5-10 minutes it turns off completely. Before the screen used blink a lot, then when I poked it was fine again. Now, I'm thinking maybe with poking got damaged.
Please, help me to find out the issue.
Thanks ahead.

If you look real close at it, can you see the display but it is very dim? If so, the backlight went out and looking at the cost of a replacement display.

Does an external display work fine? If not then posssibly a bad system board.

Start off with connecting an external Monitor

And seeing if that displays a Picture correctly. If it doesn't then you need to find out why the Video Output from the M'Board isn't working.

If it does then you need to find out why the Monitor in the NB isn't working. With these it is normally the Backlight or Inverter but it can also be the flexible connection between the M'Board and Monitor has one or more breaks in it.

If you do not have the necessary Tools and Experience to repair this yourself you should take it to a Professional Repairer for repairs as you run the risk of doing more damage and increasing the costs of Repairs to a stage where it is not economical to repair.
