laptop performance

By liceriocarlos ·
Have a T21 IBM laptop; it's only reads 550 MHZ,
According to the IBM specs this laptop should be reading 950 MHZ. Is there a way to reformat this laptop to set it up at 950MHZ?

Any comments will be much appreciated.

BIOS settings

by jeremyneedle In reply to laptop performance

Laptops can be set to run at lower speeds to increase the battery life before needing a recharge. However, I don't think that's the case here. Check the BIOS settings and ensure that, first of all, the correct speed is being recognized here, and secondly that your cpu & memory frequency/multiplier settings are correct.

It may be as simple as installing a newer BIOS.
