Laptop power query

By jaymar515 ·
I have an older IBM laptop model 765D. It runs fine on the battery. When I plug in the AC Adapter, the power light stays green for about 3-5 seconds, then it turns red/orange depending on the angle. This happens even when the battery is showing fullcharge. The computer seems to work okay, but since I can not find any documentation on this color change, it has caused me to wonder. Usually,
a change to red means stop or else. Any insite or help would be greatly appreciated.

Laptop power query

Green - Enough battery power remains for operation.
Blinking orange - The battery pack needs to be charged.
Orange - The battery pack is being charged.
Green - The computer is in suspend mode.
Blinking green - The computer is entering suspend orhibernation mode or is resuming normal operation.

Hope this helps - by the way the battery always goes into charge mode even when showing fully charged but it usually changes again after 10 minutes or so.

Allen,
Thank you for your time. I had known the light configuration, but this does not play by those rules. It stay red/orange and you can see a definite red when looking at it from most directions except straight down. thanks again..jay
