Laptop sync on log off

By DodsonFogg ·
An XP Pro notebook is supposed to synch with mapped drives on a Win2000 server on log off. Syncing at log off worked before SP2 (don't know that this is or is not the cause, but at least a coincidence). Syncing at log on and periodically works. Syncing at log off results in an error that the mapped drives cannot be found. I assume the network connections are closed before the sync. How to make the log off sync work again?

Try disabling and then re-enabling folder syncronization. Also check the event log to see if there are any clues there.

Reasonable suggestions both. I think the answer, after disabling, re-enabling, tinkering with group policies, and deciphering the event logs, is that Windows XP shuts down the wireless card's (Broadcom's) native management application before mobsync runs. After swithing to the Windows utility to manage wireless connections, the synchronization manager finds the offline folders before logging off.
