I recently loaded XP SP3 (using the stand alone installation file which I downloaded from the Microsoft website)on an Acer laptop(Core 2 Duo Intel processor, 2GB RAM). After running through the installation and clicking on the “Finish” button to restart the PC, the machine reboots and gets as far as the XP splash screen and then the screen goes totally blank. After powering down the laptop using the power button and the trying to boot into both “Safe Mode” and “Last known good config”, the PC still won’t boot up. Is there any way to sort this out? Please help!!!
