Laserjet 4 Plus driver installation

By ogneb ·
I have a Digital HiNote laptop (266 MHZ, 32 MB, 4 gigs). When I tried adding laserjet 4 Plus drivers using Add Printer Wizard, I got the following message : "Setup has detected a decoding error. Could not decode [.CAB] file" Progress bar stuck at 42%. Had to cancel driver installation. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

When you use the Add Printer Wizard and select a printer from the default list it tries to load files from the Windows 9x setup path. If you have the .CAB files on your laptop harddrive then the relevant CAB file may be corrupt. Try copying over the CAB files again to the location on your HDD from your CD.
