At the NT console, open the System Policy Editor (Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, System Policy Editor).

Click File, Open Registry. Double Click Local Computer. Expand "Windows NT System". Expand "Logon". Place a check mark in the box forthe option "Do not display last logged on user name".

Click OK, save and exit.

You could also use TweakUI. A cool utility that will do quite a few neat tricks. It can be found at http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/powertoy.htm
