LCD Monitor – Bad OSD

by lcm man . Updated 20 years, 6 months ago

I have a monitor that after 30 minutes (give or take a few) the OSD pops up, cycles through all the options until it gets to the RGB screen at which point it continuously cycles through the options on that page. The OSD does not allow you to exit (none of the buttons seem to work when this happens). You can power off the PC, but the monitor will not shut off. When you first power everything up, you can access the OSD and make any adjustments just fine. The hibernation settings are all off, the power scheme for the monitor is set to never. The PC has no floppy drive. It is currently running Windows XP Home Edition. The monitor is a Planar model number PL1700 LCM Flat Panel LCD. Everything works fine except for the OSD as described above. I have gone to Planar’s website and there is really nothing there that helped. Any idea’s? The monitor was purchased about two months ago. Should I just return it for repair/exchange?
