Back in the late 90’s I worked on a Powerbook repair line. To clean the LCD screens, we used cheesecloth and some kind of spray – worked great, made screens look new again.
Getting cheesecloth is easy – but I can’t for the life of me remember what the spray cleaner was. It was some kinda of aerosol spray – likely some brand-X cleaner that we bought in bulk.
Anyone have any ideas what it could have been? We’re phasing out CRT’s for LCD’s and people are starting to smudge them up and wondering how to clean them.
Any other suggestions? Cheesecloth works great as it’s non-abrasive and lint-free. Would something like rubbing alcohol work?
I don’t want to buy the blister pack stuff you get at CompUSA or other retaillers since they charge a princely sum for the stuff.
Thanks.
