LDAP error

By Blackcurrant ·
Hi

I have run dcdiags on a server running SBS 2000.

The program reported:

LDAP connection failed with error 1231.

Does anyone know what this means?

I ran dcdiag because I cannot access the Active Directory users and computers snap-in (error message: naming information cannot be located because: The network path was not found). I have checked the IP address, and the dns service is started and working.

The TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service is not started on the client computer. Launch services.msc and set NetBIOS Helper Service's startup type to automatic and start it.

Hi d.walker, thanks for answering. I cannot find a service named NetBIOS Helper in the list of services when I start services.msc. Any further hints?
