    Learning MySQL

    Locked

    by himdownstairs ·

I’m interested in possibly putting together a trouble ticket site for my company and I’m going to use Mantis to do it, the only thing is that I need to learn MySQL as well. I’m very much up for the challenge and am wondering where to start. I’ve done my google due diligence. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Here’s a pretty good place to start: [ http://www.planetmysql.org/ ] and a blog on that subject as well is here: [ http://tomictech.com/ ]

      Also this should help a bittoo: [ http://dev.mysql.com/ ]

SUN is behind MySQL now and they seem to 100% with it too.

A big plus is that it’s in common use around the world so there are hundreds of books out there. Like Linux and I guess most everything else Open Sourse, you can find what ever you want in more that a hundred languages as well. -d

      MySQL Bootcamp

      Here’s another option.

If you are in a hurry the MySQL Bootcamp might be what you need. It’s a five day, 11hrs a day course. I just took it last week, awesome class. It’s the admin and developer classes combined.

By the way I’m not getting payed to put in a plug for them. To date it is the best class I have taken on any platform. It is a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Good luck on what ever you choose.
