I am MIS Technician in my company.
My problem is our WAN is breakdown.
Countermeasure i have taken is
(1)Call telecom company to inform them about the problem. They try to reset the NT/modem from their office and told me there is no error for both side NT/modem at my office and at Head quarters. The telecom company also sent their man to check the NT/Modem. Telecom person bring data transfer test equipment and show me that their equipment did not trace any error on data transfer. They told me may be my router is having a problem.
2)I mention this problem to my network engineer at Head quarters and he came bringing a new router for replacement. Then he try pinging the HQ router. The message 1)request time out 2)TTL expire in transit 3)datahost unreachable appear.

We are now blank because this problem occured for a week and we cannot settle it, the Telecom line is OK and we have change our equipment too. What else...

I hope there are Tech republic members can advise and give suggestion to help me to solve this problem. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.

Thank you

When you try to do a trace across the wan link where is the last responsive device at? Is it your router or somewhere else in your network? What type of router do you have set up? If it is a serial do you have a clock speed specified? Please e-mail and I will help you further with this problem.
