Leaving the job to finish my degree

By Gadz00ks ·
I have been pursuing my undergraduate degree over the last four years and my job duties prevent me from consistently attending class and assignments, even the online classes. I am considering stepping down from my role as IT Supervisor to finish my education but I have concerns about being able to explain my absence from this industry upon graduating and I wonder if this would be seen as negative. What are some of your experiences with this scenario?

I would think

...you would only have to explain if asked, then at that point you mention you were continuing your education.

I understand what you're going through, I'm just finishing a year of school myself and have a "void" on my resume, but I will quite proudly tell any potential employer that I was continuing my education.
