Limit Drive access via Internet Explorer

By Duss ·
I need to stop end users from using View->Explorer Bar->Folders in internet explorer 6. Can anyone shed some light on this problem please?

possibly try restricting user access to the explorer menu bars via group policy.

or even registry edits see:

I've looked in the group policy options and have already browsed the winguides site for solutions. I've yet to find any concrete direction on how to remove this option other than using a kiosk version of IE. Thanks.

Need more info. How many machines are we talking about? What is the network configuration? Post a comment. What exactly are "end users" doing in IE?

If we're talking just a few machines, this might work for you:
Have you tried this: Log on as local admin
In regedit, go to HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Explorer Bars. Right click on Explorer Bars and select Permissions. You have two options that I can see, neither of which I've ever tried. Option 1 - Remove the Users group and make sure local admin is taken out of the Users group, Option 2 - Deny the Users group Read Permissions.
