Limit users from send/rec internet email

By jblanco ·
We have a full blown Exchange email system and Outlook 2000 clients. We want to be able to limit some users from sending or receiving email through the internet (only local email will be allowed for these users). Most of these users are temps and wedo not want then filtering out company information to the internet. They should be able to send email to other users internally. What is the best way to implement a system like this?

Limiting access

You have to stop email to the outside world in two places. Through Outlook and through the web.

Im just a little familar with Exchange. I have not worked on it for a while. I seem to remember you can set up a mailbox with out SMTP support. Im sure there is an Exchange person here that can fill you in.

How to keep people from using hotmail? Hmm. I dunno.

Also, you might have to keep people with enough saving from configuring Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express from getting POP mail via the web.

Whatever your solution, make sure your employees are signing non-disclosure agreements if you're afraid of company information getting out.
