Linked Table Manager - When to refresh

By ideafixer ·
I am going to upgrade several access databases from 97 to 2000. They seem to open and convert OK but I am not sure what to do with the linked table manager. If I don't run it what happends. Should the tables be refreshed often? What exactly is it for other than an easy way to change the location of a linked table. Do I need to run it even if the table location has not changed

Linked Table Manager - When to refresh

The Linked Table Manager does not move (or change the location of) linked tables. It is designed to update links once tables have been moved, so that the links point to the correct location. You should not have to rerun the Manager unless tables are moved to a different location.

You may need to run the Manager to refresh a link if you change the structure of a table.

Hope this helps.
