Linking to a secured Access Db

I have an Excel Spreadsheet linked to a query in a split Access database.
It was linking and working well over a network UNTIL….

I added security to the front end of the split database and now I cant link the Excel to the database, even when I add the User ID and password to the link dialog box.

Do you have any suggestions how I can link through the Workgroup security.mdw file so I can get permissions to open and run the database.

Note: I have rendered the ‘Admin user’ read only permissions to the front end db, so others users on the network with out permissions, when opening the db without logging in through the security.mdw, will not have update/write permissions.
