links opens search frame in IE6

When using Internet Explorer 6 every link that gets selected opens the Search frame to the left. After closing the next link reopens. I reverted back to IE6 from IE6 SP1 and the problem still occured. I also tried running Ad Aware. The operating system is Win 98SE.
