For several years I have been using a number of Bible related programs in my
ministry on a daily basis. They had hyperlinks in them that worked fine with
IE6 installed. However, I recently purchased several new programs, some Bible
related, some not, that required me to upgrade to IE7. After doing so I noted
that several of my older programs that had worked fine before the upgrade no
longer worked with the hyperlinks anymore.
Contacting the manufacturers of several of these programs I was told that it
was Microsoft’s fault because they changed how the hyperlinks work in IE7 and
their only suggestion was to role back to IE6 but if I do this I will loose the
added functionality of my new programs that require IE7.
Dual boot isn’t an option because sometimes I need access to all these
programs at once. I was told that there is no easy way for IE6 and IE7 to
coexist.
Is there any type of patch, cluge, work around or hack that would help me to
use my programs with IE7? I have invested a fair amount of money in these
programs and am more than a little bummed that they’re crippled now because
of Microsoft’s latest and greatest.
Thanks,
Michael
