Linksys wireless router WRT54GS , Outlook Express and a Dell Laptop
I recently purchased the linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router with speed booster and a Dell laptop. I already have a desk top. I installed the linksys software and set up the router for the laptop connecting my Shaw Cable modem connection to the Linksys and connecting the router to the hard drive. The desk top works fine, there hasnt been any change in that. the laptop connection works for the internet but not my emails. I spent 2 hours with Shaw going over the setting and they said everything looks like it should. I called Linksys and they said because I can take the cable from the modem and attach it to the router and download my emails, its not the router and to call Microsoft because Outlook Express is a microsoft program. I called them and was told the the router isnt theirs so they will try and help for $59.00 per hour. Basically I am getting no where with any of the manufacturers of the products and I am hoping someone has had the same problem and can guide me through the set up so the I can view my emails through the wireless router and not have to connect to the cable to do so.
