Linux does not locate network card

by mjervis In reply to Linux does not locate net ...

To further help you I need more info on the problem:

1. What version of linux are you using?

2. What type (brand name and model) of network card are you using?

3. What steps have you taken so far so I know my answer will make sure not to conflict with the steps you have already taken?

Thanks,
Mark

if n/w card is isa pnp then set it to the ne2000 campatible set the irq =9 and base address=240H
from lan card driver setup utility.
boot ur linux and run netconf command
set driver = eth0
kernel module = ne
irq =9
base address = 240
set ip address
save & exit
check with ifconfig ccommand whether it is working or not
if doesnot show ur card
run ifconfig up eth0
