Linux does not locate network card

When we were installing the linux on one of our pcs, it did not detect the network card. It is ethnet card.

check irq in dos first.
wheather it is pnp,
is it PCI or ISA?

Here are some possible solutions to this:
1.In your BIOS choose "No" to the "PNP OS" option.
2.If your NIC is ne2000 (like the most on the market) compatible then precompile your kernel with ne200 support.
3. Try to find driver for linux (a modulprobably) and install it in the kernel with modeprob
I hope this helps (It warks for me)
