Linux hard drive Data Recovery

by rgrowcock . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

Hey,

Does anyone have a good source for recovering data from failed Linux hard drive? I have a friend that had his Linux drive go catastrophic on them over the weekend. The drive’s heads have completely failed. The data needs to be recovered, but I’m not sure if this is possible or not. Does anyone have any thoughts on companies that perform this type of service?

Unfortunately, the data was not backed up, a situation that will soon be rectified, although to late for this drive. The data is VERY important and can not be replaced. I would appreciated names of companies that have performed a similar service for the responder. Thanks! Roger
