We have a HP DL380 G4 server and we are trying to install RHEL 2.1 Advanced server. This combination is certified as mentioned on HP site.
We have downloaded the drivers for Smart Array 6i and have created a drivers diskette and booted from the OS cd. It asked for the drivers, we inserted the floppy and loaded the drivers and the OS was installed successfully. However, once the installation was complete, the machine did not boot and hung at “Attempting to boot from Hard Drive (C:)”. We have surfed the net for all possible help but could not find anything. It seems that the drivers are getting loaded at the time of installation but once installation is done the OS is not able to use the drivers anymore.
It would be great if anybody can provide an insight into what is happening and how can it be resolved.
