linux lilo

Hi,I have in my PC Windows 98 and XP together.I choose between them by windows 2000 boot program (I upgraded windows 2000 to XP ) I want to install linux system but i'm afraid of linux LILO boot system so my qustion is How can I install Linuxand choose it with windows 2000 booting system not LILO.

hey the last installed OS is the one which would give you the option of dual boot. So if you do not want to choose from LILO I suggest that you install linux first and then windows.

I was in a similar position when I first installed Linux. I installed LILO on a boot disk and whenever I wanted to use Linux I inserted the disk in the FDD and booted from it. That's until my disk broke. Then I installed LILO in the MBR and I had noproblems ever since. So, my advice to you is to trust LILO or give the new guy in town, GRUB, a chance. They won't ruin other systems' boot sectors. Other systems will destroy them.
