Linux Machine [Insert a boot media]

By leothelion.murtaza ·
I just restarted the machine and I got this message.

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot drive and press any key"

I really need to have my installations remain unchanged as I was using this machine as a server on which I was running a lot of services for remote users.

Please, if anyone could help it would be real great.

Thanks in advance.

So what form of Linux is in use here?

Also is it a Live or Installed Distro?

Without knowing more it's impossible to say what is happening here but if this was installed to the HDD and properly configured the only option is that there is a Hardware Failure somewhere in either the Boot Drive or Drive Controller which is making the Drive invisible to the Computer.

Basically how was this system setup and what is in use here?

is your BIOS set to boot from the drive that contains the OS?

Check the CD, Floppy and USB Thumb Drive to make sure non-bootable media wasn't left in by accident.
