In an early discussion I had with another IT Professional we discussed the types of phones used in enterprise level communication and the question came up, “How do you feel about Linux as the OS for Enterprise Level Phones”?
I immediatly wanted to say NO, but I caught myself and for a moment I felt stummped. I mean Windows Mobile and Blackberry are the standard phones anyone thinks of when you discuss enterprise level phones but what about the Google G1 or just the Andriod OS in a phone?
It’s a pretty sound OS, the apps available are growing by the day and it’s been built by a company that well, frankly knows how the Internet works. They are not an Operating System manufacture that got into Internet Applications but vise versa and from what I see, they’ve done a pretty good job.
Now I’m not sure how, when or if Microsoft Exchange Apps would be available in Linux but if an iPhone can get any type of support from the IT Group, could it be possible for Linux?
