Linux to Win98 conversion

Someone in our org. tried unsucessfully to install Linux on a laptop. Now I can't get fdisk to partion the hard drive or even see it. How do I get 98 back on this pc?

Try fdisk /mbr. Otherwise MS fdisk will not recognize Linux partitions nor will it be able to do anything with them, including deleting them. You will need another fdisk program to handle this task. Try aefdisk.com or search Google.

use a program like wipedrv.
wipedrv writes 0/1 to the drive.
then you can use fdisk to setup the drive again.
