Linux- UBUNTU redhat installation problems

by akashyk . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

My PC was running Windows XP OS, I partitioned my hard disk using Partition magic 7.0 in order to install Linux.

After restarting I entered the BIOS to set my Boot Priority to the CD rom which had the UBUNTU Redhat CD. The installation started but soon terminated with the error “your system does not support long mode. Use 32 distribution mode. And the installation hangs. I have tried some probabilities with BIOS but all in vain. I am not able to log on to Windows too. My PC is dead :(.

Please give me ideas.
