Im set to take over the creation of a website for an academic institution that wants an alumni site to be accessed by multiple users and personalised. I believe this would be best done with active directory (please correct me if wrong!). They our solely open source so I was wondering what the open souce version would be or what alternatives their are. Due to their nature funding is limited so cost is the main limiter.
