Linux9.1 Crashes

By Starbucksne1 ·
I have a new installation of Linux 9.1. Was installed twice, the first time it crashed after a cold boot, so I re-installed it and crashed after a few minutes. I like to know how to recover from a crash or have it fix it self.

I ran across this on the SuSE Linux site and remembered your post. A patch announcement dated 2 July 2004 states that some configurations will crash. The fix is to get the update. I imagine that you will have to install Linux using a different configuration than the one that you have, then install the patch, then reconfigure the system ... if this is the cause of your problems. Here is the URL:

//www.suse.com/de/security/2004_20_kernel.html

The part about the system crashing is just above the line that reads SPECIAL INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS. You may have to do more research to find a step by step solution.

Please be sure to rate this answer for better or for worse. Thank you.
