Lite-On CD-RW Drivers

Hi there,
Looking for drivers for a Lite-on CD-RW LTR-16102c. I tried and didnt find any and well I thought maybe Windows 98 would just see it as a CD-RW, but it sees it as a CD-Rom. Does anyone know where I can find these drivers or maybe a generic driver that would work with this??

You don't need special drivers. It's an ATAPI drive. See here:

If you are having problems with a CD, Cd-RW, or DVD drive in Windows 98, you do not need a driver for the device itself.

You need to update either:

The IDE driver for the chip-set on your motherboard

The supported drives file for your burning software

Or, your CD burning software itself.

Unless you have an Intel based motherboard of Pentium II or older, the default driver supplied with Windows 98 does a poor job of properly recognizing CD drives.

If you are running an older version of Easy CD Creator, or Nero, the drive database may not support this drive.

One final note: unless you have CD burning software installed, Windows 98 does not know the difference between a CD and CD-RW drive.

Under Windows 98, Me and 2000, you MUST install CD burning software in order to use a CD-RW drive to burn disks.

Download Nero's info tool & make sure your ASPI layer is installed correctly & the drive is recognized.
