Hi

Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode and deleting the files?

Good luck

Try safe mode with networking, and then browse to panda on-line, AND Trend house call right after. Use both to scan. It is also possible that what AVG is seeing is the registry trace of a file that has already been deleted. I would douple check. The Kapersky is good too. Scan scan scan in various ways from different engines. Never rely on just one company if you think you may be infected, and NEVER rely on one company if you KNOW you are infected.

Where does AVG say this file is located? Post the exact path in a comment.

If you have XP or ME, you should turn off System Restore when you get ready to operate or the file will probably come back when you reboot.

Where does it say it is located? It might be somewhere Windows has protected, or it could be a file within an archive (zip, rar, tar, etc).

Try some of these, either in regular mode or safe mode with networking. Be careful with the online ones, like at BD. It removes what it thinks are viruses, so check out the settings. I always make it log it all for me so I can remove it on my own (in case it is not a virus).

Extracted from my doc at http://thedapper.mine.nu:1701/tech/quick.rtf which I am always updating when I find/use (FREE) stuff. For more links, including anti spyware, processors viewing, and clean ups, check out the document.
