I am trying to connect a Sony HDR-SR1 to my computer to that i can use it to feed Adobe Flash Media Encoder and broadcast the video through my server. I have everything setup on my server side, i am just not sure what hardware i require in order to use the HDR-SR1 as the source. I have an ATI TV-Wonder 650 which i believe can serve as a capture device but i am not sure if this is the right hardware for the job? It will allow me to view/capture directly from the camera and when i run Adobe FME i do see the camera’s image, however, when i try to actually start the stream to my web server it tells me the device is already in use.
Is this just not the right “capture” device for the job. If not, what would you recommend?
