LJ2200DN print job missing characters

By jason ·
I recently setup a new Dell Optiplex GX150 with Windows 98. I installed the PostScript drivers for a HP LaserJet 2200dn. When I print from Microsoft Excel 97, the print out is missing characters (letters E, Y, and W). I've tried downloading and installing new drivers from HP's website. I've tried other types of drivers such as the PCL5e and PCL6, but all result in the same issue.

Any ideas!

Thank you.

I have a couple of questions to clarify the situation. Does this just happen in Excel 97, or are the same characters missing in printouts from Word, Notepad, or other apps? Are you using an unusual font? Are other users having similar issues?

A few simple things to try: change the font to something like Times New Roman or Arial. Check that other apps print fine. Put a new toner cartridge in - you never know...

Good luck!!
