Load beep and computer reboots

I have a 2000 workstation that for no reason at all gives a load beep and restarts.Any idea what could cause this?

I would offer that the problem is not in the OS, but in a hardware conflict or software incompatibility. I have seen this on a win98SE station and another person I have talked to has it happening on an XP Pro laptop.

After you check your hardware carefully, I'd check and see if you may be having a heat related issue. Your motherboard may have temperature monitoring built in and I'd defintiely take a look at that. A piece of hardware failing ( or perhaps just conflicting) or the system overheating are likely to be the cause.

This may be caused by a heat issue with the CPU,check the fan on cpu to make sure that it is operating properly

Also check to see if the Power Management configuration is not causing the computer to reboot by disabling and then rebooting computer
