My system suddenly started posting “Load Error Press any Key to Reboot”. I booted with the XP CD and did a repair (fixmbr, fixboot), same problem, but noticed that if I designate CD first, then HD in boot order and allow CD to timeout, it boots normally.
Then I did a Win XP repair on the installation. Same thing. I am at a loss as to why it won’t take the fixes, since the boot records are working and my file system exists.
Any help is appreciated.
