Local Access DB linked to website Access DB?

I have a commerce site set up, but need to store data locally. Can I do some magic with Access (on the local machine) or with ASP (on the server) to allow the local Access Database to be updated automatically with the website info, or the other way ’round?

Legally I need to keep the data on site, but the main repository of information would be on the web server at great distance. My thought is to use the website and ASP as my front end, and update the local Access database as my legal archive.

How should I go about this?
