I’m prepping to take the Windows 2000 server exam and on the transcender the question came up that as a network administrator you log into the domain with administrator privileges on the network and are working on a W2k member server trying to run Windows Update to install critical updates. You receive an error message that indicates you don’t have the necessary permissions to install the updates. What must you do to enable you to install the updates? The correct answer is to log in as a member of the built-in Administrators local group on the member server. Why can’t you do it as an administrator on the domain? Why must you log into the local group to do it? Is it because the global admin group is not a member of the local admin group by default so if it wasn’t added on that member server you wouldn’t have the privilege to do it? Any help would be great!
